Lecuona Tribute Honoring Hispanic Heritage Month
Tom Tirino, piano and Donna Balson, soprano
Program includes legendary Cuban composer Lecuona’s Symphonic Poem for Piano, Soprano, and orchestra “Del Manglar” recently re-discovered by Tirino (performance specialist in Lecuona), the arrangement of which has been commissioned by the Symphony of the Americas. The work is based on an Afro-Cuban theme and is one of Lecuona’s most serious compositions.
